Andrea Glass-Heffner

Andrea Glass-Heffner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Women & Gender Studies at the University of Delaware. She holds a PhD in American Studies from Penn State University, Harrisburg, with concentrations in Gender and Sexuality, Urban Culture, and Folklore. Her research focuses on intersections of gender, space, and resistance in urban environments, with notable work on gentrification, queer activism, and feminist material culture.

Dr. Glass-Heffner teaches at multiple institutions including the University of Delaware, Labouré College, and Rowan University. She has held leadership roles in community organizations like the LGBT Center of Central Pennsylvania and the Ephrata Area Chamber of Commerce. In 2020, she received a grant for online pedagogy innovation through the University of Delaware's 'Teaching Online Together Program.'

Her scholarship spans academic journals, encyclopedias, and public lectures, addressing topics such as urban folklore, queer spatial politics, and the cultural impacts of gentrification. She actively contributes to interdisciplinary dialogues through presentations at conferences like the National Women's Studies Association and American Folklore Society.
