Andrea Dutton

Andrea Dutton is a Professor in the Department of Geoscience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds the Helen Jupnik Endowed Research Professorship. She leads the Sea Level + Environmental Reconstruction using Uranium-Thorium (SLEUTh) Lab and is appointed in the Center for Climatic Research.

• Research Focus: Paleoclimatology, paleoceanography, and sea level reconstruction over glacial-interglacial timescales using carbonate and isotope geochemistry.
• Leadership Roles: Former co-leader of PALSEA (Paleo constraints on Sea Level Rise), current leadership team of QUIGs (Quaternary Interglacials Working Group), member of NASEM CORES panel (decadal review of NSF-EAR programs).
• Outreach: Featured in NOVA's Emmy-nominated documentary "Decoding the Weather Machine," 2019 TEDx talk "Reframing Sea Level Rise," and U.S. Senate testimony on climate impacts.

Recent Publications: Focus on global sea level indicators, U-series dating, and Quaternary interglacial periods. Collaborations span the International Ocean Discovery Program, Antarctic ice sheet modeling, and statistical frameworks for sea level reconstruction.
