Andrea Duffy

Andrea Duffy is an Associate Professor and Assistant Vice Provost at Colorado State University's Department of History within the College of Liberal Arts. She holds a B.A. from Princeton University (2003) and a Ph.D. from Georgetown University (2013). Her research focuses on environmental history in imperial and colonial contexts, particularly French policies in the Mediterranean and Ottoman contexts. She teaches courses on global environmental history, European history, and Middle Eastern studies. Her first book, Nomad's Land, examines French environmental policies in the 19th-century Mediterranean, while her upcoming work The Nature of Empire explores imperialism's environmental dimensions.
