Andrea Davis is a Professor in the Department of Humanities and served as the Academic Convenor of the 2023 Congress of the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences. She is a Faculty Fellow and has received teaching awards at the Faculty, university, and national levels.
- Research focuses on literary productions of Black women in the Americas
- Former Chair of the Department of Humanities
- Former interim director of the Centre for Research on Latin America and the Caribbean (CERLAC)
Her SSHRC-funded research on violence affecting Black youth in Canada and Jamaica was highlighted in the Council of Ontario Universities' Research Matters campaign (2012–2013). She is currently co-editing The Handbook to Black Canadian Literature with Leslie Sanders (Routledge).
