Andre Lamy

Dr. Andre Lamy is a Professor in the Department of Surgery at McMaster University and a cardiac surgeon at Hamilton Health Sciences. He is also a scientist at the Population Health Research Institute (PHRI). His research focuses on cardiac surgery, particularly off-pump CABG versus on-pump CABG, anticoagulant therapies, and graft patency. He has led major trials such as the CORONARY Trial, COMPASS-CABG, and VISION-Cardiac Surgery, and recently completed the DEPOSITION Trial on topical tranexamic acid.

His work spans health economics and clinical trials in cardiovascular disease, with expertise in perioperative medicine, troponin biomarkers, and anti-inflammatory therapies. His publications highlight cost-effectiveness analyses of anticoagulants, graft selection, and postoperative complications like delirium and acute kidney injury. He collaborates with pharmaceutical companies to develop novel therapies for cardiac surgery patients.
