Anders Rønningen

Anders Rønningen is an Associate Professor in Music Pedagogy at the University of Southeast Norway. He is also a freelance composer, multi-musician, and R&D manager at the Norwegian Cultural Schools Council. With extensive experience in Madagascar, where he worked in teacher education and music, his research focuses on cultural diversity, inclusion, and the role of music in education and community-building.

• Research Areas: Music pedagogy, ethnomusicology, cultural diversity, inclusive education, Malagasy traditions.
• Projects: Leader of the KIL project ('The Cultural School as an Inclusive Force in the Local Community'), contributing to the Nordic Cultural School Manifesto.
• Lectures: Explores music as a tool for inclusion, identity, and social belonging, while critically analyzing exoticism and ethnicity in art.
