Anais Da Fonseca is a Lecturer in Education at King's College London's Department of Culture, Media & Creative Industries, within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. Previously, she held positions including Associate Lecturer in History of Art at UCL (2022-2024), Researcher in Economics at London Business School (2019-2021), Research Associate at SOAS South Asia Institute (2018-2019), and Adjunct Researcher at Tate Research Centre: Asia (2017-2018).
Education:
- Ph.D. in History of Art from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS)
Research focuses on modern/contemporary South Asian art, craft history, design, and the politics of heritage. Current projects explore transregional craft networks across India, South Asia, Europe, and West Africa, examining materiality, authorship, and creativity. She also investigates 19th-century Europe-India-Africa trade dynamics and craft-based contemporary art practices in India.
Teaching includes Dissertation Research Methods and specialized courses across the department. Office hours: Tuesdays 15:00–16:00 and Thursdays 11:00–12:00 in Room C2.04, Chesham Building, Strand Campus (WC2R 2LS).
