Ana Sanchez is a Professor in Health Sciences at Brock University. Her research focuses on tropical parasitic infections including soil-transmitted helminths, tapeworms, and pediculosis, with fieldwork primarily in Honduras.
Her work examines disease transmission dynamics, diagnostic methods, and interventions for neglected tropical diseases. Dr. Sanchez also supports research capacity building in developing countries through international collaborations.
She holds adjunct appointments at Baylor College of Medicine and serves on advisory committees for PAHO and One Health Research Foundation. Recent publications analyze Toxocara infection patterns and relationships between parasitic infections, poverty, and malnutrition.
