Ana Neto

Ana Neto is a Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão (ISEG), University of Lisbon. She holds a PhD in Mathematics (2006), MSc in Algebra (1998), and BSc in Mathematics (1994), all from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. Her professional experience includes roles as Coordinator of the Observatório para a Ação e Inovação Pedagógica (OAIP) at ISEG (2023–present), Coordinator of the Scientific Area of Analysis and Mathematical Finance (2022–present), and member of the executive committee of the Mathematics Department (2013–2014). She has extensive teaching experience in courses such as Difference Equations, Mathematical Analysis II, and Linear Algebra across multiple undergraduate programs in Economics, Management, and Mathematics.

Her research interests span algebraic structures, numerical semigroups, supercharacter theories, and applications of mathematics in economics and finance. She has published in journals like the Indian Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics and Communications in Algebra, focusing on topics including numerical semigroup densities, involutive algebra groups, and symplectic/orthogonal group representations. Her work bridges pure mathematics with applied fields such as sports event analysis through statistical methodologies.

Dr. Neto has authored educational materials like Exercícios de Cálculo diferencial e Integral em Rn para Economia e Gestão (2018), and her professional service includes coordinating degree programs and pedagogical innovation initiatives at ISEG.
