Ana Marques is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the PhD in Design at IADE-Universidade Europeia. She serves as an integrated researcher at UNIDCOM-IADE, focusing on interdisciplinary research at the intersection of design, visual culture, and historical theory.
- Education: PhD in Fine Arts (2015, FCT), Master's in Art Theories (2005), and Bachelor's in Communication Design (2002) from the University of Lisbon.
Her academic career spans teaching roles at multiple institutions, including the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL) and IADE-UE since 2010. She co-founded BAGA Design (2010-2016) and gained practical expertise in bookbinding and gilding at the National Library of Portugal's Preservation and Conservation Division.
Current research initiatives include a post-doctoral project analyzing the History, Theory, and Criticism of Design in Portugal, alongside leadership of the "IADE-UE Archive – Memory Project: Design, Photography and Visual Culture".
