Ana L. Ros is an Associate Professor in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Binghamton University, with a courtesy title in the Translation Research and Instruction Program (TRIP). She holds a Ph.D. in Romance Languages from the University of Michigan and undergraduate degrees from the University of Uruguay. Her research focuses on collective memory formation, civil-military relations in post-dictatorial Latin America, and the intersection of obedience/resistance in authoritarian contexts. She is affiliated with Harpur College of Arts and Sciences.

Teaching emphasizes Latin American cinema, literature, and cultural history, with a focus on intersectionality and social justice. Awards include the College Finish Line Grant (2022), Harpur Dean’s Conference Funds (2020), and multiple Provost’s Individual Development Awards.
Her work appears in journals like Genocide Studies and Prevention and Journal of Genocide Studies, and she authored The Post-Dictatorship Generation (2012) and Lecciones del giro perpetrador en América Latina (2025). She actively collaborates with global academic networks and initiatives on memory studies.
