Ana Johnson

Dr. Ana Johnson is a Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at Queen's University, affiliated with the School of Medicine and Faculty of Health Sciences. She holds cross-appointments as a Senior Adjunct Scientist at ICES (Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences) and is part of the Health Services and Policy Research Institute. Previously, she was a Canada Research Chair in Health Policy and held roles including former site director of the ICES Queen's Health Services Research Facility.

Her academic background includes a PhD in Health Economics from the University of Texas, a Master's in Economics from the University of Houston, and a BA in Economics from the University of Nottingham. She has held faculty positions at the Medical College of Wisconsin and McMaster University, where she received a CIHR Career Award.

Dr. Johnson's research focuses on economic evaluations of healthcare programs, cost-effectiveness analysis, decision-making frameworks in health policy, and resource allocation strategies. Her work spans public health, health technologies, and global health, with recent projects analyzing carotid plaque risk prediction, opioid use trends, and portable MRI feasibility in remote areas.

Her scientific accolades include the CIHR Career Award and her role as a Canada Research Chair in Health Policy. Dr. Johnson teaches courses in health economics, policy, and quality healthcare systems at Queen's University.
