Ana Jiménez Martín

Ana Jiménez Martín is an Associate Professor at the University of Alcalá, Department of Electronics. She leads the GEINTRA research group, focusing on Electronic Engineering applied to Smart Spaces and Transport. Her work integrates sensor technology, positioning systems, and biomedical applications.

She earned her Ph.D. from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2003 with a thesis on AlGaN/GaN HEMT growth using molecular beam epitaxy, advised by Dr. Enrique Calleja Pardo.

Her research interests span sensor systems for activity monitoring, inertial and ultrasonic positioning, and AI-driven healthcare technologies. Recent work emphasizes elderly care through non-invasive behavioral analysis and smart environment integration. Key contributions include BLE-UWB localization, multisensory activity tracking, and gait analysis technologies.

Her publications (2021–2024) highlight advancements in inertial sensors, wearable health devices, and AI applications in emotion recognition. She collaborates internationally, as seen in the EmoSPeech-IberLEF2024 project using DistilBERT for Spanish text emotion analysis.
