Ana Isabel Garcia Arias

Ana Isabel Garcia Arias is a Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela's Department of Applied Economics, affiliated with the Higher Polytechnic School of Engineering and the ECOAGRASOC research group. Her research focuses on agri-food systems, environmental economics, and rural sustainability, with expertise in invasive species economics, water governance, and community resilience.

Recent work examines the economic impact of Vespa velutina on Iberian agriculture, sustainability indices for dairy farms, and community-based water management in Ecuador. She holds a doctorate (2008) analyzing EU agri-environmental policy implementation in Galicia.
