Ana Faustino

Ana Faustino is a Project Manager for the IETI initiative at the Museum of Natural History, Leibniz Institute for Evolution and Biodiversity Research in Berlin, Germany. She holds a PhD in Behavioural Biology (Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência, Portugal) and completed postdoctoral research in neuroscience at Charité and Humboldt University. Her work bridges public engagement, science communication, and responsible research and innovation (RRI) to advance community-driven scientific practices.

Ana’s research focuses on culture change, co-creation, and impact-oriented public engagement, particularly through projects like the EC-H2020 Open Science Hub Network and Open Science Hub Portugal. She has led work packages on stakeholder mapping, impact assessment, and conceptual frameworks for public engagement. Her scientific publications span neuroscience, behavioral biology, and community development through open schooling.

Her career includes roles at Falling Walls Engage, Soapbox Science Berlin, and grants from the H2020 SciShops.eu project and the Municipality of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo. She currently manages IETI’s communications and concepts & contexts research to assess how collaborative processes enhance research impact.
