An Cliquet

An Cliquet is a Professor of International Environmental and Biodiversity Law at Ghent University, specializing in both marine and terrestrial biodiversity law within international and European legal frameworks.

Her research spans critical contemporary environmental challenges, with primary focus areas including ecological restoration (including China-specific applications), climate change adaptation in conservation, gender dimensions of biodiversity, ecosystem services protection, rights-based conservation approaches, wildlife trade regulation, urban biodiversity law, transboundary watercourses governance, and environmental protection during armed conflict. She also investigates specialized themes such as ecological refugees, Congo Basin protection, health-biodiversity linkages, and transboundary watercourse management under biodiversity law.
