Amy Witt is a Professor of Nursing at Bethel University, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Adult and Professional Studies. She has been at Bethel since 2007. Her education includes a B.A. in Communication and English Writing from Concordia College (1987), a B.S. in Nursing from Spalding University (1996), an M.S. in Nursing Leadership and Management from Metropolitan State University (2007), and a Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of North Dakota (2015).
Her research focuses on Collaborative Testing, Next Generation NCLEX item writing, and preparing nursing students for safe practice post-pandemic. Teaching specialties include medical surgical nursing and clinical skills. She has extensive clinical experience in surgical intensive care, trauma, and forensic nursing as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. She previously served on the Minnesota Board of Nursing (2009–2013).
Her publication explores collaborative testing methods in nursing education. She has presented at conferences such as the NLN Education Summit and Midwest Nursing Research Society. She holds certifications as a Registered Nurse (R136831-4) and Certified Nurse Educator (CNE).
Amy is actively involved in professional organizations including the National League of Nursing NCLEX Item Writing Committee and Sigma Theta Tau. Her work emphasizes preparing nurses for modern healthcare challenges through innovative educational strategies.
