Amy Weismann is an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa and Assistant Director of the UI Center for Human Rights. She holds a JD with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law (2000) and an AB from Bryn Mawr College (1993).

Weismann's professional experience includes law clerk roles for the Seventh Judicial District of Iowa, a legal intern position at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague, and fieldwork as a humanitarian aid worker in refugee camps in the former Yugoslavia. She has also worked as a resettlement caseworker for the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services and managed peace-building programs for a non-profit in Bosnia.
Her research focuses on human rights education, gender justice in international law, and post-conflict reconciliation. She contributed to editing the final judgment of the Women’s International War Crimes Tribunal 2000 on Japanese military sexual slavery.
