Amy Seidl

Amy Seidl is a Senior Lecturer and Co-Director of the Environmental Studies Program at the University of Vermont’s Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources. She holds affiliations with the Gund Institute for Environment. Her research focuses on ecological and evolutionary responses to climate change, climate adaptation strategies, and the intersection of climate science with humanities. She has authored two books on climate change and is working on climate fiction.

Her work emphasizes communicating climate science to broader audiences through courses like Sustainability Science and Environmental Literature. She has been a keynote speaker on renewable energy, green design, and local food systems. Awards include the 2017 Lynne Bond Award and multiple teaching nominations.

She previously hosted the Emmy-winning Emerging Science TV show and serves on the Vermont Natural Resource Council board. As Interim Associate Director of UVM’s Environmental Program, she integrates academic and community partnerships.
