Amy Pozza

Amy Pozza is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of History at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), within the College of Liberal and Fine Arts.

Her educational background includes:

• B.A. in History, University of Texas at San Antonio (2002)
• Ph.D. in Modern Chinese History, Cornell University (2008)

Dr. Pozza's research interests encompass East Asian history, with a focus on ethnic and national identity formation in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region during the 1950s. She also actively engages in Asian American Studies, critical pedagogy, cultural competency, and interdisciplinary instruction, emphasizing inclusive teaching methodologies and cross-cultural educational frameworks.
