Amy Hughes is a British artist and instructor based in New York City. She is affiliated with the New York Academy of Art as a Lecturer in Painting. Born in Leicestershire, UK, Hughes grew up between Cheshire, UK, and Moscow, Russia.

Her research and artistic practice focus on Fine Art, Painting, and Portraiture, often exploring the human figure through contemporary visual techniques. Hughes’s work has been exhibited in solo and group shows, including the International Biennale Portrait Competition at Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art and sold at Sotheby’s Auction House NY.
She has received notable awards such as the Purchase Prize from Liverpool Women’s Hospital, the Academy Merit Scholarship, and the HRH The Prince of Wales Scholarship (MFA 2016).
