Amy Hamel

Amy Hamel serves as a Visiting Lecturer of Theatre in the Department of Theatre within the College of the Arts at Palm Beach Atlantic University. She joined the university in 2016 and has recently transitioned to a full-time position, bringing extensive professional experience to her academic role.

• BA in Theatre Arts, Palm Beach Atlantic University

With 35 years of professional performance experience, Hamel specializes in theatre arts and dance instruction. Her teaching encompasses both theoretical and practical aspects of performance, drawing from her extensive background as a performer, choreographer, and director. She has particular expertise in musical theatre, classical ballet training, and contemporary performance techniques.

As an active member of the regional theater community, Hamel serves as a teaching artist with the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and works with the Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival during summer breaks. Her professional experience directly informs her pedagogical approach, emphasizing practical skill development alongside academic study of theater arts.
