Amy Frederick

Amy Frederick is the National Endowment for the Humanities Associate Professor of Art History at Centre College. She also chairs the Art History Program, Art (Studio) Program, and Social Justice Program. Her research focuses on seventeenth-century Dutch art and museum studies.

Education:

• B.A. in English and Art History from Duke University
• M.A. in Art History and Museum Studies from Case Western Reserve University
• Ph.D. in Art History from Case Western Reserve University

Research Interests: Dr. Frederick’s work explores Dutch Golden Age art, cultural history, and the intersection of art with social justice. She emphasizes museum studies, examining how institutions curate and interpret historical artifacts.
