Dr. Amy Edwards is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Environmental and Rural Science at the University of New England. She concurrently serves as a Project Officer and Western Site Leader for NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, managing feral cat control initiatives across multiple nature reserves. Her academic background includes a PhD and postdoctoral work at the University of Tasmania and a 3-year Ecology and Evolution postdoctoral fellowship at La Trobe University, with international collaborations at the University of Pretoria and Cambridge University.
Research Focus: Edwards specializes in conservation biology of Australian marsupials, particularly examining:
- Feral cat predation impacts on native species
- Reproductive physiology and stress-induced sex ratio biases
- Transgenerational effects of glucocorticoids in captive mammals
- Field monitoring via camera traps and pitfall surveys across NSW's mallee region
