Dr. Amy Clarke is a Senior Lecturer in History and Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She specializes in architectural heritage, cultural identity politics, and the modern histories of Britain, Scotland, and Australia.
Her research examines how heritage conservation and themed environments shape national branding, with specific focus on Scottish nationalism, Australian regional identities, and authenticity in cultural spaces. Fieldwork spans the UK, North America, Cambodia, Vanuatu and the Pacific region.
Recent publications analyze heritage diplomacy mechanisms, the cultural significance of 'Big Things' monuments, and identity construction through sports houses. Her work often employs comparative methodologies across Commonwealth nations.
