Amy Clarke is a Research Fellow at the University of Sussex, affiliated with the School of Law, Politics and Sociology. She also serves as an Associate Tutor in Geography. Her research focuses on national identity, belonging, and migration studies, utilizing qualitative methods and ethnographic approaches.
- Current project: ESRC-funded research on legal aid and legal representatives in the Criminal Cases Review Commission
- Former roles: ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow at Queen Mary University of London, research on hopeful solidarities with the University of Brighton
Her work critically examines boundaries of British national community, particularly through the lens of the white middle-classes, and explores integration processes, historical imaginaries, and economies of recognition.
Notable awards include the Bob Woods Taught Postgraduate Dissertation Prize (2013). She holds a DPhil in Geography from the University of Sussex and has taught on both Geography and Sociology modules.
