About
Amy Adamson is Professor of Biology and Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at UNC Greensboro. Her research examines intracellular virus-host interactions, focusing on Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and Influenza A virus mechanisms.
Research explores viral manipulation of glycolysis, mTOR pathway interactions, Mnk1/2 kinase roles in EBV-induced metastasis, and Drosophila modeling of viral proteins. Leads projects on metabolic reprogramming during viral infection funded by NIH/NSF.
Teaches virology, cell biology, and molecular biology courses. Directs research on EBV's promotion of cancer cell migration via lytic replication.
