Dr. Amos Ssematimba is a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics at Gulu University, Uganda, since 2002. He currently serves as a Post-Doctoral Associate at the University of Minnesota, USA (2016–to date), and previously held roles as a Post-Doctoral Scientist and Scientist at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in Nairobi, Kenya (2012–2015). Earlier, he worked as a Ph.D./AIO Research Assistant at the Central Veterinary Institute, part of Wageningen University, Netherlands (2008–2012).

- BS in Mathematics and Physics from Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Uganda
- MS in Mathematics from Makerere University, Uganda
- PhD from Wageningen University, Netherlands
His research focuses on mathematical modeling, ecological modeling, dynamical systems, population dynamics, and mathematical epidemiology of infectious diseases. He has modeled diseases such as tuberculosis, Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, African Swine Fever, and Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia. His expertise bridges theoretical frameworks with real-world disease control strategies.
