About
Amod A. Ogale serves as Dow Chemical Professor of Chemical Engineering and Director of the Center for Advanced Engineering Fibers and Films (CAEFF) at Clemson University. With over 150 publications, his research focuses on processing-microstructure-property relationships in polymer fibers, films, and composites. He earned his Ph.D. from University of Delaware (1986) and B.S. from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (1982).
Research explores:
- High-performance carbon fibers from petroleum/biomass precursors
- Nanocomposites with enhanced thermal/electrical conductivity
- Polymeric film extrusion and fiber spinning processes
Recent publications demonstrate strong focus on sustainable materials (2014-2019), particularly lignin-based carbon fibers and biocomposites. Award recognition includes fellowship status in three professional societies and the 2016 SABIC Composites Educator of the Year Award. The research group actively develops interdisciplinary courses on carbon fibers and composite materials.
