Amna Chalwati

Amna Chalwati is an Associate Professor of Accounting at St. Mary’s University’s Sobey School of Business. She teaches undergraduate courses such as Introduction to Financial Accounting, International Accounting, and Exploring Sustainability, as well as a Ph.D. Directed Study on Voluntary Disclosure and CSR. Her research focuses on greenwashing, social washing, financial market dynamics, CEO traits, and ESG reporting quality, with publications in journals like the Journal of Banking and Finance and The Journal of Theoretical Accounting Research.

Dr. Chalwati holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and an M.Sc. in Accounting from Manouba University, Tunisia. She serves as a senior consultant for the Global Initiative for Governance and Sustainability (GIGS), advising governments and NGOs on sustainable governance frameworks aligned with global standards.
