Amitav Acharya

Amitav Acharya is UNESCO Chair in Transnational Challenges and Governance and Distinguished Professor at American University's School of International Service. He holds honorary positions at Rhodes University, University of Pretoria, and Nankai University, with previous appointments at Harvard, Oxford, and Tsinghua University.

Research focuses on:

• Global international relations and world order transitions
• US-China relations and Asian regionalism
• Non-Western international relations theory
• United Nations and global governance

Publications demonstrate extensive contributions to IR theory with works translated into multiple languages.
