Amitabh Basu is a Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Johns Hopkins University, with a secondary appointment in the Computer Science Department. He joined JHU in 2013 following a visiting assistant professorship at the University of California, Davis. His research focuses on optimization, discrete and combinatorial geometry, operations research, convex analysis, and their applications in data science and astronomy.
