Amit Bhatt

Amit Bhatt, M.D., F.A.A.P., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine and Director of the Medical Student Rotation in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Texas Children's Hospital. He specializes in pediatric ophthalmology, retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), adult strabismus, and medical student education. His research focuses on VEGF-inhibitors in severe ROP treatment, and he leads Texas Children’s Hospital’s ROP screening program and emergency pediatric ophthalmology consultation services.

Dr. Bhatt completed his MD at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, residency in ophthalmology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and fluent in Spanish.

He provides outpatient pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus services, integrating clinical care with academic leadership. His roles include surgical and medical expertise, teaching, and hospital-based consultation.
