Amir Karton is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Molecular Sciences, The University of Western Australia. He leads the theoretical and computational chemistry research group, focusing on quantum chemical methodologies and their applications in biochemistry, nano-chemistry, and catalysis. His work includes designing graphene-based materials, enzymatic reaction mechanisms, and atmospheric chemical processes.
He holds an Australian Research Council Future Fellowship and serves as Editor of Chemical Physics Letters and Associate Editor of the Australian Journal of Chemistry. Amir chairs the RACI Inclusion and Diversity Committee (RIDC), promoting equity in academia.
