Research initiatives examine adolescent social development through multiple lenses including youth civic engagement motivations, parental/peer influences on civic participation, and friendship jealousy dynamics in early adolescence. Current work analyzes how perceived closeness between friends and rivals affects relational jealousy, while future studies will investigate jealousy manifestations in cross-sex friendships involving romantic attraction. Significant attention is given to social experiences of foster children within these frameworks.
Instructional responsibilities encompass core psychology courses: Introduction to Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychology, Lifespan Development, and Abnormal Psychology.
