Amanda Webber

Amanda Webber is a Senior Lecturer in the Science Communication Unit at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) and Programme Leader for the MSc Science Communication. She holds a PhD and MSc (Distinction) from Oxford Brookes University and is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA). Her work bridges anthropology and conservation, focusing on human-nature relationships, particularly in biodiversity conservation and environmental education.

Research Interests: Amanda investigates how perceptions and values shape human interactions with nature. Her current projects include studying children’s literature representation of wildlife/farming and teaching qualitative methods in conservation science. She emphasizes participatory approaches, such as deep mapping and arts-based methods, to understand community perspectives.
