Dr. Amanda Solem is an Associate Professor of Biology at Hastings College. She teaches courses in biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, and evolution. Her educational background includes a B.S. in Biology from Kalamazoo College, an M.S. and Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University, and postdoctoral research at Wayne State University and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
Her research focuses on RNA structure and function, RNA-protein interactions, bacterial community profiling, and innovative science education methods. She is deeply fascinated by RNA mechanisms and interdisciplinary scientific exploration.
