Amanda Quist

Dr. Amanda Quist is an Associate Professor and Director of Choral Activities at Western Michigan University’s Irving S. Gilmore School of Music, effective Fall 2024. A WMU alumna and Michigan native, she previously held leadership roles at the University of Miami (Director of Choral Studies), Westminster Choir College (Associate Professor, Chair of Conducting/ Sacred Music), and San José State University. Her expertise spans choral conducting, early music, and voice pedagogy, with notable achievements including Grammy Academy involvement and international collaborations with orchestras like the Philadelphia Orchestra and Dresden Staatskapelle.

Her research appears in Choral Journal and scholarly publications from Lexington Books and GIA.

Professional Contributions: Editor for choral series at Walton Music and Gentry Publications, clinician in Indonesia, Australia, and South Africa, and former member of the Choral GRAMMY Screening Committee. She also serves as a guest conductor and lecturer globally.
