Amanda Pereira-Salgado is a Research Fellow in Health Economics and Cancer at the Centre for Health Policy Cancer Health Services Research Unit within the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne. She also holds an adjunct position as Research Fellow in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University.
Her research focuses on optimizing prostate cancer treatment strategies through clinical registries and data linkage to improve patient survival outcomes and cost-effectiveness. She has critiqued health technology assessments of oncology diagnostic testing to inform government healthcare funding decisions. Her work spans health services research including evaluation of hospital-based interventions, education programs, and development of healthcare resources such as the national website ACPTalk.
