Amanda Cross

Professor Amanda Cross serves as Professor of Cancer Epidemiology at Imperial College London with a joint appointment in the School of Public Health and Department of Surgery and Cancer within the Faculty of Medicine. She holds leadership roles as Head of the Cancer Screening and Prevention Research Group and Head of the Section of Gastrointestinal Surgery.

Her academic journey includes:

Cross specializes in cancer epidemiology with emphasis on gastrointestinal malignancies and lifestyle-cancer etiology. Her research drives large-scale observational studies and clinical trials in colorectal cancer screening that have directly influenced national guidelines. As co-chair of the Colorectal Cancer Working Group for the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) cohort spanning 23 centers across 10 countries, she advances multinational cancer research initiatives.

She directs the Cancer Screening & Prevention Research Group (CSPRG) and Section of Gastrointestinal Surgery, fostering collaborative research environments that integrate epidemiology, clinical practice, and public health policy development.
