Amanda Bowling

Dr. Amanda Bowling is an Associate Professor and ACEL Honors Coordinator at The Ohio State University's College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. She holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Agricultural Education from the University of Missouri (2008–2017). Her research focuses on youth motivation, teacher beliefs regarding student motivation, effective teaching strategies, and pre-service teacher reflection. She actively integrates emerging technologies like virtual reality into agricultural education and advocates for LGBTQ+ inclusivity in STEM fields. Notably, she received a national early-career teaching award for her innovative approaches.

Her work emphasizes practical classroom applications, such as improving student engagement through cooperative learning and addressing educator challenges during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic. She advises graduate students Kenny Saephan and Javan Owiti, contributing to their research in agricultural education and youth development.
