Alyssa Butters

Alyssa Butters is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Calgary. She also serves as DVLC Academic Liaison and has been actively involved in veterinary education and clinical practice.

• Education: BSc (2003) from the University of Alberta, DVM (2007) from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine.
• Professional Roles: Former associate veterinarian in private equine practice, Fédération Equestre Internationale Permitted Treating Veterinarian, Official Veterinarian for Showjumping and Three Day Eventing.

Her research and professional interests span Veterinary Medicine, Epidemiology, and Animal Husbandry. She has coordinated DVLC Practicum Rotations, mentored UCVM students, and transitioned to graduate studies in epidemiology at UCVM while co-managing a commercial cow-calf beef operation with her husband.
