Alys Eve Weinbaum

Alys Eve Weinbaum is a Professor in the Department of English at the University of Washington. She specializes in feminist, Marxist, and anti-racist scholarship on modern and contemporary transatlantic literature and culture. Her work intersects with race, reproduction, biocapitalism, and historical trauma.

Research Interests: Dr. Weinbaum explores the intersections of race, gender, and capitalism through works like The Afterlife of Reproductive Slavery, which examines biocapitalism's ties to slavery, and Wayward Reproductions, theorizing the 'race/reproduction bind' in modern thought. Current projects include speculative fiction analysis and collaborations on 'Reproductive Racial Capitalism' with Jennifer Morgan and embodied memory studies with Julia Wurr.
