Alvin Velazquez

Alvin Velazquez is an Associate Professor of Law at Indiana University Maurer School of Law, teaching Labor Law, Bankruptcy Law, and Corporations. His scholarship focuses on labor law's intersection with bankruptcy and corporate law, with additional interests in theology and law.

His work bridges doctrinal analysis with practical strategies for labor organizers navigating complex bankruptcy proceedings.

His recent publications show a trend toward analyzing bankruptcy as a strategic space for labor organizing, with increasing focus on federal grant funding, municipal finance, and worker protections. This reflects his dual perspective as both scholar and former labor movement insider.
