Alvin Ntibinyane

Alvin Ntibinyane is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communications at MacEwan University. He is an investigative journalist with over 20 years of experience and co-founded the INK Centre for Investigative Journalism.

His research explores journalism's role in societal change, focusing on decolonizing journalism education and integrating Indigenous perspectives. He emphasizes anti-racism and social justice in media practices.

His publications analyze journalism sustainability during crises and non-profit investigative models. He received the 2018 Reuters Institute Fellowship at Oxford University and judges international journalism awards including the Pulitzer Prize-contributing Panama Papers project.

Available to supervise senior independent studies, he brings practical expertise from roles at University of Regina and Trent University.
