Dr. Alvin Kauffman serves as the Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Spring Arbor University (SAU). He joined SAU in 2006 as an adjunct faculty member and has held progressive leadership roles, including Director of the RN-BSN program and Chair of the Nursing Department. Prior to SAU, he accumulated extensive clinical and administrative experience in the Detroit Medical Center and as a Vice President/CNO at a Surgical Specialty Hospital, including a two-year residency at the Jianxi School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China.

Research Focus: His academic work centers on the integration of a Biblical worldview into healthcare and nursing practices, exploring ethical, spiritual, and operational intersections in health sciences.
Awards & Fellowships:
- Colson Fellow (recognizing leadership in faith-based scholarship)
External Engagements: Dr. Kauffman serves on the boards of Helping Hands Pregnancy Resource Center and Spring Branch Academy and is actively involved in Countryside Bible Church.
