Alva Mooses is an interdisciplinary artist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Art and Art History at Hunter College, CUNY. Her practice spans sculpture, printmaking, and papermaking, engaging earth-based materials to explore place, memory, and geological time. Exhibitions include group shows at Tiger Strikes Asteroid, Front Art Space, and Socrates Sculpture Park in New York, along with international venues like the Mexic-Arte Museum (Austin) and Museo Sívori (Buenos Aires).
Her research investigates material relationships between human experience and geological processes, often addressing themes of cultural memory and environmental engagement. Mooses participates in editorial work for Latinx Spaces and coordinates transnational community art projects across Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, El Salvador, and Argentina.
