Alun Gibbs

Dr Alun Gibbs is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Southampton, specializing in constitutional law, European legal frameworks, and transformative legal systems. His research focuses on constitutional theory, human rights implementation in post-conflict contexts, and the interplay between economic crises and legal governance. He currently supervises PhD student Robert Veal in the Law program. Gibbs has published extensively on topics ranging from Latin American constitutionalism to semiotics of legal discourse, contributing to debates on sovereignty, legal agency, and transnational governance structures.
