Alper Kiraz is a Professor in the Department of Physics at Koç University, specializing in Optics and Photonics. He leads research in advanced optofluidic technologies, including liquid droplet resonators, optofluidic waveguides, and microdisk microcavities for sensing applications. His work bridges physics and biomedical engineering, focusing on innovative imaging tools like cost-effective confocal microscopes and optofluidic lasers.
Education: PhD in Physics from University of California, Santa Barbara (2002), MSc (2000), and BS from Bilkent University (1998).
