Prof. Dr. Aloys Schepers is a Professor and Senior Scientist at Helmholtz Munich, affiliated with the Institute of Epigenetics and Stem Cells. Since 2019, he has served as Coordinator of the International Helmholtz-Edinburgh Research School for Epigenetics (EpiCrossBorders), and since 2021, he has been an Ombudsperson for doctoral students, addressing issues in experimental research, supervision, and authorship.

His research focuses on epigenetics, stem cell biology, DNA replication, and the molecular mechanisms of Epstein-Barr Virus. He currently leads the EpiCrossBorders initiative, fostering international collaboration between Helmholtz Munich and the University of Edinburgh.
